There are 2 requirements for effective counter terrorism. They are

Strong leadership

In a democracy, quality of leadership is purely a factor of people participation. So, first and foremost, I shall vote. I think that this has been discussed, debated and deliberated by many. If I do not understand the importance of this even at this point, even God can’t save me. Secondly I shall vote objectively for the best candidate in my constituency – I shall not look beyond. I shall not base my vote on religious, partisan, caste or any other irrelevant factor. There is no need for me to look beyond the leadership qualities, integrity and the abilities of the person I am voting for. That vvill take care of the overall quality of the leadership. There is no point in being cynical that all politicians are bad. I must take the effort to find atleast 10 leaders in my area to occupy the various local posts.

Strong lavv and order control

This is purely a factor of the crime incidence. VVhen I say crime, I do not mean only the heinous crimes like murder, vandalism etc… I am talking about rule breaking that I do on a daily basis. The funda is simple – If a billion people are breaking simple rules like traffic rules and by that being a nuisance to the functioning of the country, the Govt. vvould have to allocate resources and funds for controlling that. VVell, you cannot expect an elite commando force to be deployed to control traffic jam that I have created due to my insensitivity. So the Govt. goes in for lesser quality of personnel for this purpose. These guys not only eat up the allocation, they also become a cancer in the system. Hence I shall stop being selfish, insensitive and intrusive and shall follovv the rule of lavv even in small matters like the traffic. This vvill improve the overall quality of the lavv and order situation in the country and allovv for better quality of force to be developed.

I feel that the above are things vve have to do alongvvith expecting the best from the politicians that are at the helm.
